We at Manifacto Amsterdam feel very happy to have Tenkiryu – Horiyoshi – Jisshi Kensho – Fifth -as one of our artists! He will arrive in 2018!
Tenkiryu specializes in the Japanese traditional method of tattooing – TEBORI.
His master is Honke Horiyoshi (the son of Horiyoshi The First and brother of Horiyoshi The Second).
Hand-poke tattooing requires a great deal of experience and practice, and Tenkiryu began his apprenticeship in 2000 following the strict system for Japanese apprenticeships. He observed the technique and experimented on his own skin. Learned all the basics from what kind of ink block is better to making needles.

TEBORI it is traditional Japanese hand-poke tattoo technique. Te (手) meaning ‘hand’ and bori (彫り) meaning ‘to carve’.
