Sunrise Geometric Candle Holder

Stained glass candle holder – we called this piece Sunrise.

In the shape of a dodecahedron, made in two tones of yellow coloured glass with a copper seam.

Platonic solids stained glass pendant geometric candle holder. The design is a regular dodecahedron or a pentagonal dodecahedron.

Contemporary Tiffany’s style blue sky geometric candle holder, Rob Rott creates patterns from sacred geometry designs.

This is a beautiful Stained Glass Geometric Candle holder, that is handmade in The Netherlands by craftsman and artist Rob Rott, a master in metal work, wood work and lately Rob makes geometric glass art, and handcrafts each piece with great care and attention, never ever mass or machine produced.

The Stained Glass Technique:

Rob makes every candle holder by using the copper foil glass work method. To begin with he draws the pattern onto cardboard, then selects the glass colour pieces, traces them and afterwards Rob Rott cuts and grounds the glass pieces to the correct shape. After the glass pieces are cleaned, they are bonded according to the design and shape and the edges are then soldered together with copper. After all the soldering is done, the candle holder and the base are cleaned.

Dodecahedron in Art:

Dodecahedra appears in some pieces of 20th-century art. Have a look at Salvador Dalí‘s painting The Sacrament of the Last Supper (1955), the room is a hollow regular dodecahedron. And in the work of M. C. Escher, such as his lithographs Reptiles (1943) and Gravitation (1952).
