How To Take Care of Your Bracelet

Manifacto Amsterdam, take care of your bracelet, handmade bracelet, brass bracelet

We make these brass and copper bracelets with the utmost care and attention; the advice we give here applies to the brass and copper bracelets that we make in our atelier in Amsterdam Noorth, both the copper/brass with leather and the brass bracelets with no leather.

If you take good care of your jewellery, it will last a lifetime. Here we highlight the basic care for the handmade bracelets – in reality, you do not need to do much, that is how easy it is!

♥ How to take care of your leather and brass & copper bracelet

Do not wear your bracelet in the shower, sauna or swimming or exposit it to any prolonged period in water. Not only can water be quite harsh on the brass or copper, it will also affect the leather. Making the leather wet, can cause it to shrink and can also to make it lose its soft and confortable feel.

♥ How to clean it:

The bracelets are finished with a protective layer, that is a clear, skin-safe, anti-tarnish coating. It is almost invisible and will protect your jewellery from tarnish, oxidation and fading.

Because of this layer, you do not need to polish or apply harsh products to the brass or to the copper. Just wipe it clean with a soft and humid cloth, wiping it dry right after cleaning.

The leather is treated with natural Bees wax. You don’t really need to do anything thing to it. As you wear the bracelet, the natural fats from the skin will help soften and maintain the leather. If you feel that the leather is too dry, you can simply rub a small portion of Bees wax with a soft cloth.

Never use any products that contain alcohol, acetone, harsh chemicals or acidic substances as these can ruin the finish and can also the ruin the leather.

♥ How to store it:

Just wear it every day! But if this is not possible, store it preferably in a box, away from humid places. Give it that special place when not in use!

Give it Love ♥ and your bracelet will last a lifetime!
